Book Reading

This is a cute picture of the kids TOTALLY getting into their books. Fresh outta the tub and all clean, settling down and reading. NOT something they do every night.. Settle down that is.

So many people told me i was overreacting to Jensen and his speech issue. (background is he will say his words but just the first syllable, or however you spell that) Kelly from Birth to 3 connections came and evaluated Jensen on wednesday. Madelyn was in bed so she wouldnt take the spotlight away. Kelly came in and she asked Jensen to sit down in front of her and wouldnt you know it he just said OK and did it.. Ok so i was wondering at that moment what happened to my child? my child would never listen to a complete stranger? She started to fill out some paperwork and had him do some things. He stacked blocks, picked out a horse out of a picture and a cat out of a picture. Lacing skills, drawing. anyway when we were done with the full test it turns out Jensen is at a preschool/kindergarten level with most of his things. the only thing he is average on was cognitive skills. Kelly had a little ugly baby and she wanted Jensen to hug it like she did but he looked at her and said "NO" and he didnt want to draw a straight line, He wanted a lopty lop line. So just because Jensen doesnt articulate his words isnt a big deal. They wont do that until they are 3 anyway. SO just because Madelyn talks in full sentences doesnt mean Jensen will. So that was my mommy freak out award... Point proven

TWO YEARS!!!!

We all have survived the two year mark... We went out to eat at the Elks for our annual birthday meal... The kids enjoyed fine dining of grilled cheese and french fries (along with ketchup of course). A good time was had by all!!!

We went to the doctor for the 2 year checkup. Let me tell you what... two LOUD, crying, hysterical kids in a small room is quite the thing. Grandpa, who doesnt like to hear the kids cry in the first place, was a real trooper with us. The kids are growing like weeds.. They didnt like the doctor at all, even though he is the sweetest man ever!! Thank god he doesnt take it to heart.. I think he is use to kids seeing him and crying. The highlight of the appointment was that they got new books!!! They LOVE books.. Jensen and Madelyn are really starting to talk. Madelyn more than Jensen. She will talk in sentences and he cant get a word in edge wise.. Their new favorite movie is over the hedge, they watch it probably 7 times a day.. NO JOKE... soo.. we totally need to get into a new DVD.

Hope everyone's holiday season went as planned.. Mine was great.. I spent lots of time with the people that i wanted to spend all my time with!!! The kids had a great christmas... They got about everything they did and didnt want.

I went home sick from work today.. stupid head cold... so i will write more later in the week.. gotta get planning on the kids' birthday party... 2 is approaching way too fast... OH Josh leaves for Afghanistan on the 8th of this month.. he is pretty stoked to go!! He is sick of training and just wants to do it now...
